That Girl is from Atlanta, and now resides in Nashville. She has been performing from a very young age. She won a voice scholarship at West Georgia College near Atlanta to study with famous opera singer Inge Manski Lundeen (Metropolitan Opera), and also studied Classical Piano and Jazz Saxophone. Although That Girl has formal training, her favorite music has always been Soul, Funk, Dance and Pop, and those are the kinds of songs she likes to write. That Girl fronted many high energy bands while serving as President of the Atlanta Songwriters Association and the Georgia Music Industry Association. During her time in Atlanta, she worked with some top producers and was offered a record deal with a major label.
That Girl’s other passion is dancing, which led to her being the choreographer for some of the top bands in Atlanta. Her producer and co-writer from Atlanta, Kamaal Malak (previously with the band Arrested Development), joined her in Nashville, where they collaborate on new songs. Erik Blue came on board, and brings a fresh sound to the project. Erik is a seasoned Nashville performer, vocalist and multi-instrumentalist, and adds some chill, smooth rap to the mix. That Girl, Kamaal and Erik make the perfect team, infusing modern pop and EDM flavors with a splash of neo funk style. The lyrics are crafty and robust, from an unyielding female perspective. “Critique My Bootique” will have you on your feet!
That Girl looks forward to bringing her special brand of Music to festivals, stadiums & theaters everywhere!!!
